Against All Odds launched in Danish on World Refugee Day 2008
The interactive web-based game “Mod alle odds” was launched in schools all over Denmark on World Refugee Day 2008.
In Copenhagen, a 6th grade class spent the day playing "Mod alle odds". The game offers players the chance to experience what it is like to be a refugee.
“I am a refugee, and I think the game is very realistic,” says Mustafa who is born in Iraq but fled to Denmark with his family in 1998. Marie also found the game exciting. “The most interesting part is how you can survive in a new country where you don’t speak the language”.
The Danish version of “Against All Odds - Mod alle odds” is developed by UNHCR Regional Office in Stockholm in cooperation with the Danish Refugee Council. The Danish Ministry of Refugee, Immigration & Integration Affairs has contributed financially to the translation of the game.
The game is now online in eight languages: Danish, English, Finnish, German, Greek, Norwegian, Spanish and Swedish. Within the near future French and Icelandic versions will also be launched.
